Just the facts, Man.
The Title: Just a little post-modern Joe Friday for your Monday morning.
The Greeting: Hey there.
The Apology: I haven't updated in over a year, because I am not actually a blogger, or at least, I wasn't at that point. I'm not kneejerk, I'm not reactionary, and I figured it'd be better to let the issue resolve itself before moving to another one.
Yeah, a few things about that.
While I believe that most of my posted ideas are still valid, I no longer believe that the American people ought to directly elect the president, partly because of the marketing 'culture' (I know exactly why we're universally hated, and it's because of our 'culture,' but that's a whole other update entirely.) in which we live, but partly also because the people aren't the ones that work with the president; the Senate and (to a lesser extent) the House were designed to do that, so they ought to elect the president, like the Framers had intended. We do, after all, live in a Republic, and that's how a republic is supposed to work. Democracy is good for a village or perhaps a town, but it's totally untenable in even a nation-state, let alone the colonial power America currently is (and no, I'm not referencing Iraq or Afghanistan or Great Britan, but Puerto Rico and Guam and Midway and used-to-be Hawai'i, our colonies, among others.)
The Meaning: Fact. An interesting concept. Looking back, I feel my best and brightest and bloggiest post was 'Fat Man,' last August. Just the facts, no opinion, pithy and something that made you think. A constant stream of that type of thing is now my only goal.
I will now begin to use this as an actual blog, and I will post some reactionary thought.
Don't call this a comeback; this is a revolution.
